Everything they design is completely bespoke and their 12,000sq.ft. modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinet-makers and finishers.
 
They currently have an opening for a Junior Creative Designer who has great digital skills and can create imagery for client presentations from CAD drawings and also assist the conceptual design team.
 
The ideal candidate will have illustrative, graphics and modelmaking talent and be passionate about interior design with a taste for period buildings and furniture. The role would primarily involve assistance with design presentations to clients, compiling technical drawings, product specifications and reference imagery into digital documents and producing striking three-dimensional visualisations through digital art software.
 
It is essential that presentation documents are highly professional and suitably attractive. They will also need to be pulled together to tight deadlines. Therefore, innate organisational ability and visual perfectionism are necessary. 
 
They also have an opening for a more experienced candidate with great concept design and drawing skills.
 
For both roles they are looking for knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Procreate and/or Sketchbook. This would ideally suit a candidate who has studied Interior Design or Interior Architecture.

The company is currently looking for an Assistant Product Designer to join their small design team. You will be assisting with the design and development of the Company’s new product ranges as well as the maintenance of their extensive back catalogue of products. This will include producing concept renders, reverse engineering and product design, and the generation of technical drawings for manufacture. 
 
The Assistant Product Designer will also be required to solve engineering problems should they arise and comfortably manage their own time and workload in a fast-paced design environment. You will be regularly communicating to a wider team as well as manufacturers. 
 
Skills and experience required for the Assistant Product Designer role: 
  • Educated in a relevant degree discipline such as Product Design or Design Engineering
  • Must have industry experience in using SolidWorks to a professional level
  • A competent user of Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Should have the ability to project manage and problem solve

This internationally recognised brand has a shared passion for British lighting, creating contemporary lighting for the residential, hospitality and commercial marketplaces globally.

Based near the Hertfordshire and Essex border they are seeking a Product Design Engineer to work on new product development for the North American market.

You will be developing products requested by their Hospitality and Sales Team in accordance with relevant regulations and standards suitable for this territory. This will involve supporting the team in developing within the given timelines needed to meet customer expectations and seasonal launches. Also ensuring products are engineered to meet the Company’s engineering and sustainability principles.

You must be able to work effectively within a team, alongside and assisting team members where needed. Regular communication with Supplier Liaison Managers is essential within the development of any new product. Everyone is encouraged to share their ideas.

Key responsibilities are to:

  • Create product submission packs and complete sample evaluation reports.
  • Prepare prototype samples using standard model making and 3D printing technology.
  • Produce engineering drawings and product specifications for quotation, manufacturing and QA purposes.
  • Create and maintain BIM files for products within the development process.
  • Liaise with manufacturers during the development and production process.
  • Produce installation instructions and product labels.
  • Carry out basic in-house product testing.

Skills and Experience required for the Product Design Engineer:

  • 2+ years' experience working as a Product Design Engineer.
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings to IEC standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes suitable for mass production.
  • SolidWorks literate and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for instructions and illustrations.
  • Able and comfortable with taking ownership of projects assigned.
  • Creative engineering flair.

In return the salary on offer for the Product Design Engineer is up to £35k plus an annual bonus, contributary pension, free fruit and soup days and 4 company social events a year. They are a great company to work for.

They are now looking to recruit a Kitchen Designer with creative flair to help take their business forward. The ideal candidate will be competent using Winner Design software, with experience of designing and ordering Kitchen and Bedroom furniture. They work with several German and UK manufacturers and also offer bespoke-made British furniture.

They work normal business hours from their showroom and you will be expected to work two Saturdays per month and be willing to visit properties to conduct surveys and take dimensions.

They are currently recruiting for a Furniture Design Technician who is able to demonstrate that they can competently work within the high-end residential market as this role needs accurate detail drawings incorporating design for manufacture.

You will be preparing each element of the project for manufacture, producing layouts, technical and production drawings and 3D renders. The role may involve trips to sites for site surveys and will involve liaising with internal members of the company. This British Company manufactures beautiful bespoke furniture, cabinetry and specialist joinery work for a global network of clients. Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques.

Projects include dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms and they are currently looking for an experienced Furniture Technician to join this team. They are based in Norfolk but depending on your level of experience they are also open to remote working with occasional visits to the office.

The main responsibilities for the Furniture Technician will include to:

  • Develop the client brief into technical and production drawings and renders
  • Ensure the product is engineered and designed for manufacture and assembly is carried out
  • Ensure drawing accuracy and presentation meets the required standard
  • Ensure drawings are published on time and drawing approvals are pursued to program
  • Survey and template site work as required and undertake pre installation checks
  • Review works in progress and prior to delivery for quality and conformance to drawings

Skills and Experience sought for the Furniture Technician role:

  • Skilled in 3D CAD using SolidWorks
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a wood based environment - Joinery, shop fitting or cabinet making
  • CNC and or cabinet making experience would be beneficial
  • Good interpersonal skills to create effective working relationships
  • Precise and conscientious

This independent kitchen business has over 25 years' experience of British, German and Italian brands along with bespoke luxury handmade kitchens resulting in a fantastic and varied choice of kitchens for their customers.

Their clients range from private individuals to architects and building companies and their larger showroom in Berkshire often hosts cookery events, appliance demo’s and design seminars. Their showroom in Wiltshire is also home to their workshop.

They currently have opportunities for 3 additional Kitchen Designers (one for Reading, one for Swindon and one to work more flexibly between the two). Ongoing training will be provided although they are looking for experienced designers used to designing and selling kitchens within the £30k to £80k price bracket.

They use Fusion CAD software and Smart for quoting and have a team of CAD technicians, fitting / installation teams (who can carry out small building works), project managers and showroom administrators thus enabling their designers to concentrate on the customers and their projects.

Skills and experience needed for the Kitchen Designer role:

  • Strong and proven track record within kitchen design and sales
  • A natural flair for design, presentation and customer service
  • Understanding of the luxury marketplace
  • Good IT skills and CAD literate
  • A confident, enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a positive work ethic
  • Able to work to deadlines and targets
  • Full driving licence

On offer for the Kitchen Designer is a good basic salary plus a monthly bonus and a realistic OTE of £55k to £75k. Commission is paid on every kitchen sold and is uncapped.

They are now recruiting for a Design Cost Estimator responsible for the costing of materials and processes for the manufacturing of their Designs. You will be expected to cost engineer company products, maintaining excellent quality whilst providing the best costings and efficiency for product manufacturing. A comprehensive understanding of materials and processes is therefore essential alongside being able to interpret production drawings.

You will need to have a good rapport with all stakeholders in the business, both in-house and externally with suppliers to maintain and develop good working relationships. You will also have an eye for optimum costings and be able to form an efficient database administration.

Skills, Experience and attributes needed for the Design Cost Estimator:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
