Senior Interior Designer / Team Leader - Midlands - up to £55,000 (V03999)

This award-winning interior design studio specialises within the residential marketplace tailoring the design and service around their client’s needs. They have built up over many years a trusted network of partners to create tailor-made joinery, upholstery, artwork and soft furnishings. They are also able to offer CGI imagery, styling and a full installation and fit-out service.
 
We have been asked to help them fill two roles:
1. Senior Residential Interior Designer / Design Lead
They are looking for candidates with 8+ years’ experience to include the luxury residential interior design sector and proven experience of working with private clients. You will need to be confident with a client facing role and experience working with international clients would be beneficial. Knowledgeable in interior architecture, you will able to source, create and design all aspects of FF&E including furniture, soft furnishings, lighting, wall coverings and artwork. Managing projects including site installations, you will be using the Adobe CS and MS Office, especially Excel. They have in-house CAD technicians to assist.
 
Ideally you will be based in London or the surrounding aras as this is where most of their clients are. You would then be expected to travel to the Head Office in the Midlands 2-3 times a month.
 
2. Senior Commercial Interior Designer / Design Lead
They are looking for candidates with 8+ years’ experience in the commercial interior design sector, residential experience in addition would be beneficial. This should ideally cover hospitality, shared facilities and communal areas. You will be able to source, create and design all aspects of FF&E including furniture, soft furnishings, lighting, wall coverings and artwork. Managing projects including in-depth site meetings and installations, you should be proficient in CAD, Adobe CS and MS Excel.
As the Head Office based in the Midlands, the ideal candidate would be living no more than 1 hours’ commute as you would be expected to be in office at least 2 days per week.

This company creates joinery pieces for some of the finest commercial interiors being designed in the UK today. Operating nationwide from their factory and offices just outside London they offer total management of custom joinery packages, from initial site survey through to installation.
 
They are currently looking for a Technical Designer to join their rapidly growing team and are keen to speak with people that have technical designer experience within a custom joinery construction environment, as well as experience with SolidWorks.
 
Key aspects of the role of the Joinery and Furniture Designer:
  • To produce, complete and check technical drawings
  • To follow the detailed scope set for the project
  • To use the task management software to track progress and communications
  • To research technical details of components, materials and designs used
  • Where possible to engineer designs to be as efficient as possible for manufacture
  • Participate in company and departmental discussions about improvements and innovation
Experience and skills required for the Joinery and Furniture Designer:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience using SolidWorks
  • Experience of producing joinery drawings, with hands-on knowledge within manufacturing and assembly an advantage

This creative design studio work with high net worth clients on both historical and contemporary interiors, bespoke furniture and uniquely designed fabrics.
 
Continually busy with new projects coming in they are looking for a creative and organised individual to take on the role of FF&E Designer. You will be handling suppliers, sourcing new products, assisting with the preparation of various projects, invoicing and listing. This is a very varied role and would particularly suit someone who has worked in a similar / supporting role within an interior design practice or a luxury interiors showroom and is familiar with furnishings, lighting and pieces of artwork using the finest materials.
 
There will be plenty of opportunities for progression as the role develops.
 
Day-to-day responsibilities for the FF&E Designer include:
  • Sourcing products and samples
  • Procurement of orders and authorising invoices for payment
  • Arranging shipments and collection of deliveries
  • Assisting with all FF&E aspects on projects
  • Assisting with mood boards and design schemes
 
Background and skills needed for the FF&E Designer:
  • A good understanding of and the ability to use MS Excel and able to issue sales invoices
  • At least 2 years' relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
  • Organised and efficient with good administrative skills
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to compile and present that information
  • Resourceful with imaginative solutions for sourcing

We work alongside national and regional builders, property developers and private clients. Our team design, project manage and install show homes, marketing suites, retirement homes and private residential projects.

You should already have residential experience and also ideally have a background in or knowledge of show home design.

Skills and experience needed for the Business Development Manager:

In return they are offering an attractive remuneration package of:
  • Basic £36k per annum
  • Commission 3% of sales plus bonus' on a sliding scale

  • Realistic OTE £80,000.00+ per year

Our client is a privately owned, luxury residential developer specialising in bespoke homes in the Home Counties who is seeking a Senior Interior Architect to join the team. 
 
As Senior Interior Architect you will be working with their private clients leading the design on forthcoming projects. They are seeking somebody with expertise in high-end residential development who would be responsible for projects from concept / planning stages through to completion. Projects would cover all aspects of interior architecture and specification including floor plans, kitchens, bathrooms and joinery. You will be working with clients, dealing with trades and contractors and managing all procurement for the projects including independent and pro-active sourcing of goods.
 
The role of the Senior Interior Architect will encompass all aspects of the internal design to include
  • Floor plans and spatial planning

  • M&E including lighting and electrical plans

Our client creates original and unique furniture, lighting and sculptures and are currently seeking a Production Manager with strong technical knowledge of furniture construction and production methods. Someone with a genuine interest in contemporary art & sculpture and who understands what it takes to create truly bespoke pieces of furniture.

You will be planning production schedules, managing the production process on individual pieces, controlling the quality standards and interpreting sketches and drawings, liaising with clients and the workshops. Our client designs and manufacturers contract furniture including meeting tables, credenzas, storage & lockers, chairs, booths & banquette seating. They have a showroom in Central London and a manufacturing facility in Lincolnshire and are currently recruiting for a Furniture Designer.
 
They are looking for a bright individual to come onboard, learn the product and the business and help the department grow with the ultimate aim of becoming the Design Manager.
 
You will be producing furniture for the office, educational and institutional markets using AutoCAD for 2D drawings and creating production drawings using Inventor. You will be responsible for producing BoMs, renders and creating 3D models for their product portfolio. There will also however be occasions to produce space plans for clients and visuals using SketchUp and/or 3D Studio Max.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Designer / Product Designer:
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Invenor or similar software like SolidWorks
  • At least 3 year's experience in a product or furniture related technical design role
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good communication skills
  • An interest in the technical aspects of products and their design
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines (once up to speed in the job)

Technical Production Assistant - Props + Events - Essex - up to £28,000 (V03942)

Providing a range of services from exhibition stands, product launches and bespoke sampling stands to PR stunts, sampling bins and giant props, the company is theatrical in its approach and enjoys encouraging both clients and staff to be different.
 
Based near the Essex and Hertfordshire borders, they are currently looking for a Technical Production Assistant to support the Production Team. You will be creating CAD drawings, art working, proposals, pitch work and design costing. You will also be project managing smaller projects from brief through to delivery, ensuring successful realisation of projects adopting a hands-on approach to working in the production workshop.
 
Other duties for the Technical Production Assistant include:
  • Design interpretation, creating mood boards if required and basic visualisations
  • Performing practical tasks in the workshop such as prop making, finishing, vinyling, painting, sewing and basic carpentry
  • Creating CNC files and supervising CNC machining when required 
  • Assisting with the creation of content for social media posts and stories 
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new subcontractors, updating availability / task sheets and bookings
  • Liaising with suppliers  
 
Skills and experience needed for the Technical Production Assistant:
  • Experience of using a CAD software package, CNC and Adobe Illustrator
  • Good administration and project management skills
  • Able to demonstrate a hands-on approach at all times 
  • A team worker, highly organised and flexible in their approach
  • An understanding of the fast paced, ever-changing demands of high-end brands and clients 
  • Be health and safety compliant at all times 
  • Positive, sociable and adaptable
