The University of Warwick is one of the UK’s leading universities with a mission to establish themselves as a world leader in research and education and they are currently seeking an experienced FF&E project manager for their Estates department which plays a vital role in helping to achieve this goal by managing and growing the University’s land and property portfolio.

The role will involve managing a diverse range of projects including the specification and procurement of furniture for student residences, new office builds and space planning for existing departments through to common rooms/break-out room refurbishment for students and staff, classroom and lecture theatre upgrades.  The successful applicant will be involved with advising on colour schemes, room capacities, materials and equipment, and procuring furniture or equipment, sometimes in response to bespoke requests.

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of managing furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) projects along with a basic understanding of the construction industry.
  • Experience of FF&E procurement and using the supply contract, particularly within the ‘contract furnishing’ sector.
  • The ability to accurately define project requirements and assess the quality of proposals from manufacturers and suppliers.
  • A history of prioritising competing demands to ensure projects are delivered on time, to plan and within agreed budgets.
  • Competency in FF&E design standards, along with experience using the Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop to follow industry regulated health and safety and space management guidelines to produce layout drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to explain technical information to multiple stakeholders, and to form strong working relationships with colleagues across the University.

In this busy and varied role you will be involved in interesting and challenging projects, from day to day revenue requirements up to major capital projects with a value up to approximately £2 million in both preconstruction and construction phases.

They are currently recruiting to fill a 1 year fixed term contract for an Interior Designer who will be responsible for producing both eye catching and engaging graphics using 3D Max and Photoshop for the outer facades of the establishments as well as the interiors. The role will work alongside the procurement, operations and the content teams to maintain consistency, as well as liaising with the main company to ensure all designs are within brand guidelines.

As a graduate in interior design (or similar), you will need proven experience using 3D Max and Photoshop and two years’ experience in the creation of themed interiors such as hospitality, theatre, film or television. Experience of dealing with internal and external clients, partners and employees will be an advantage as would inventory management/control. You will also be creative with a keen eye for detail and an enthusiastic team player.

Our client is based in North West London and specialises in the design and supply of exclusive contemporary kitchens for private clientele, developers and hoteliers. In collaboration with one of Italy’s' finest producers of contemporary kitchen furniture, working with a number of UK suppliers of premium branded appliances and specialist fabricators of various bespoke items, they require a Project Coordinator to manage the logistical element of the project post sale. This role requires confidence and quick thinking, an ability to work under pressure and converse on many levels, verbal and written, with all parties involved from the contractor to the end Client.

Advanced MS Excel skills and Mac knowledge are essential with drawing package skills an advantage. Ultimately the right candidate for this role will be comfortable being in charge of their role and have an eye for detail.

Day-to-day responsibilities include co-ordinating projects, managing the company’s logistical requirements, administering orders, assisting designers, scheduling and managing appointments and managing showroom and studio.

Our client covers all aspects of interior design for developers and the hospitality industry, from show homes, to bathrooms, kitchen and interior specification design for large scale developments, to hotel suites and apartments, including bathrooms and common areas. They are currently looking to recruit an Interior Designer to work across all areas of their business and can show some experience in the following areas:

FF&E. Ideally experience of interior specification for residential developments and technical ability to draw up designs, produce basic visuals for client, work on specification documents, some awareness of technical / architectural requirements.

Showhomes. You will be working on all elements of design from soft furnishings to architectural details, working on every stage of show homes, from design, ordering to installation, including shopping and styling for very specific briefs. Ability to work across several genres and styles, they design very specifically for their clients and do not operate on a house style level.

Requirements include a high level of computer literacy including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, creativity, interpersonal skills, organised, able to work in a busy demanding environment and hands on, each of the designers oversee everything on their jobs, from designing to installation, including styling and being on site to project manage their installations.

This leading design practise within the hotel and hospitality marketplace are currently looking for a talented and creative senior interior designer with a good work ethic, a sharp mind and an awareness of current trends to join their busy and vibrant team. They are also looking for a more junior interior designer with strong CAD skills and looking to take on a more responsible role. These are full-time positions working in a lively studio within a Grade 2 listed building in Hertfordshire. There are good train links to both Liverpool Street and Kings Cross.

Candidates must have proven experience in all areas of the hotel and/or leisure sector, with an understanding of materials and detail as well as technical expertise. For the more senior role they must be adept in all stages of the design process, from concept and presentation to detailing and technical design drawing and for both, competent on AutoCAD. Other core skills include good time-management skills to meet multiple deadlines and experience in construction and bespoke detailing, knowledge of SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop would be advantageous.

They work with architects, interior designers, project managers, quantity surveyors and private clients who demand the highest quality and specification. They are currently seeking a Project Manager to join the team and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are able to competently work within the high end residential market. The role of a Project Manager is to be the client facing co-ordinator of each element of the project and involves preparing each element of the project for manufacture ensuring at all times the finances and design brief is met. The role will involve regular trips to site within and outside of the UK currently many of their projects are London and surrounding area based.

With a project management background within the cabinet making / interior design industry, you will need the ability to manage members of a project team, be commercially and financially minded and have a degree or equivalent. You will also need an understanding of AutoCAD and be able to read and amend drawings for manufacture; a clear understanding of 3D packages and the importance of Design for Manufacture would be an advantage.

They are also part of a larger group with four known brands in their portfolio and are currently looking to recruit a CAD Technician to work out of their offices in Wiltshire. Part of your duties will be to manage and operate the full running of the CAD system, digitize and create new pattern pieces, create cutting specifications, liaise with design & development administrator, cutting and sewing information and managing the CAD management structure.

Along with being capable of the above duties you will need to be fluent on CAD (the company uses Gerber), have knowledge of furniture construction (upholstery would be beneficial) and be technically minded with attention to detail.

Based in Yorkshire they currently have a requirement for a CAD Designer responsible for space planning, the design of interiors, bespoke furniture and modification of existing ranges, 3D visuals and pre-sales presentation materials.

As a recent graduate of interior design with a work placement / work experience, you should have a genuine interest in furniture design, particularly educational furniture and be able to produce 2D and 3D drawings with AutoCAD, Revit and/or 3D Studio. External web based internet and intranet systems would be useful but not essential and a full UK driving licence a prerequisite.

This interior and furniture design company works for both private clients and developers within mostly the London area. They are currently nearing completion on a very large residential refurbishment project in Hampstead that requires site administration of furnishings and snagging. There are also some new projects at the planning stage which includes a 38 apartment hotel. The Principal Designer is seeking an organised individual to take on the responsibility of all the soft furnishings and fabrics and assist with administration. This will involve sourcing and collating samples, scheduling, listing and handling suppliers and coordinating deliveries. They prefer candidates who can work on a self-employed basis.

You will need at least 4 years’ experience working with an interior decorator on residential projects and have experience of dealing with suppliers. Organised and efficient you should be a good communicator, literate and numerate with drive and enthusiasm. IT and Photoshop literate, you will need to be able to use your own laptop.
